Registered Massage Therapy
Therapeutic massage therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues in the body such as muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints.
Registered Massage Therapists in British Columbia have the highest standard of education in North America. They undergo an accredited program and must pass a licensing exam, written and practical, set out by their governing body, the College of Massage Therapists of BC. Even after licensing, RMTs have mandatory continuing education requirements to keep their skills relevant, effective and safe.
Massage therapists are trained to evaluate individual health needs, provide an accurate assessment, differential diagnosis, and prognosis of specific soft tissue and musculoskeletal conditions. They also act upon the muscular, nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems to improve health.
Registered Massage Therapy is effective for a wide range of conditions:
Pregnancy, migraine headaches, tendonitis, arthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, sports injuries, as well as many other common conditions related to soft tissue and joint dysfunction.
